Sew Americana Blog Tour 2019

I am so excited to be a part of this years Sew Americana Blog Tour hosted by Katy of Wild and Wanderful and Thread and Grain.

The tour was graciously sponsored by Sly Fox Fabrics and I was sent some gorgeous swim to sew up.

This was only my second time sewing with swim fabric so I was a little nervous. I chose the Elise’s One Shoulder Swimsuit and Tankini by Simple Life Pattern Company. I knew I wanted to choose a pattern that was easy to understand (and construct!) being only my second swimsuit.

Elise also comes in baby sizes so I was able to make a matching swimsuit for my youngest daughter.

I chose to make their suits with different details so that they matched but weren’t identical.

Because this was only my second time sewing swimsuits, I decided to go as easy as possible and went with the two piece option. The great thing about this pattern is that it comes with an optional snap placket so you can easily change diapers or take a potty break with the one piece version.

I love the options that come with this pattern and the fact that I can make so many different versions with one pattern.

We are taking our first vacation as a family next month and I have a LOT more planned before then!

We can’t wait to wear these Elise swimsuits on the 4th of July next week!
